Dear Boogie Woogie Piano Fans,
after many cold winter weeks the Boogie Woogie concert spring has awakened!
The tour „Boogie Woogie Legends“ of Axel Zwingenberger with Joja Wendt is under way to its climax. Particularly the Boogie- and Blues-matches of Axel and Joja at two big concert grand pianos in exciting playing mood full of energy inspire the audiences! As the grand finale of the tour, tomorrow’s concert at the Hamburg Schauspielhaus is on the program. Their joint album „Boogie Woogie Dimensions“ on CD and LP is enthusiastically welcomed by the listeners, too.
In April and May, a particular focus will be in Austria on the 50th anniversary of the legendary „Boogie Woogie Session `76 – live in Vienna“: the original protagonists, Axel and Torsten Zwingenberger and Martin Pyrker, will play two jubilee sessions on April 14th and 15th at Vienna’s Metropol. On May 27th, there’ll be another concert of the three at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, together with other music colleagues.
The „Boogie Woogie Brothers“ Axel and Torsten Zwingenberger will perform at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater in Hamburg on April 19th, in Oslip at the Cselley Muehle in Austria on May 30th, and at Vienna’s Jazzland from June 1st to 3rd. More concerts of Axel Zwingenberger in Austria will be at the „Ybbsiade“ in Ybbs on April 24th, at Brunn am Gebirge at the Boogie Night on June 13th and at the railway museum „Heizhaus“ in Strasshof on June 27th.
As a soloist, Axel will tour across Germany: in Muenchen at the Lustspielhaus on April 11th, in Zwingenberg at the Bergstrasse at the Theater Mobile on May 2nd, at the „Johanneum“ school in Hamburg on May 21st, and the unterhaus in Mainz on May 22nd. He’ll play at Alma Hoppe’s Lustspielhaus in Hamburg on June 5th, at the Dixiebahnhof in Dresden-Weixdorf on June 12th and at the Nica Jazzclub in Hamburg on June 30th.
Together with dear musician friends, Axel will perform at the Munich Isarphilharmonie on April 26th for the 40th stage anniversary of Martin Schmitt, and in Moers with Joerg Hegemann und Stefan Ulbricht at the 20th Moers Boogie Night on May 9th – look forward to wonderful musical encounters!
For a preview, the Hamburg Boogie Woogie Connection at the Fabrik in Hamburg-Altona will not be held on the traditional date, August 8th, but instead on August 22nd at the same place. More infos soon!
